Three Interpretations
Within Amaffi’s Oud Collection, which will soon comprise eight fragrances in total (four for men, four for women), three of the feminine compositions—Dazzling Oud, Oudshine, and Oud Glare—illustrate the material’s remarkable range.
The first explores oud’s darker register. Built around a layered structure of Borneo, Boya, and Assam ouds, Dazzling Oud has a sultry, velvety depth. Rose centifolia and saffron soften its edges, while leather and bitter orange introduce contrast. The effect is enveloping, not loud—a fragrance less about projection than presence.
If Dazzling Oud is shadow, Oudshine is light. Here, Boya and Assam ouds are refracted through notes of orange blossom, vanilla, and orchid. Ylang-ylang and sandalwood add warmth, allowing the oud to glow rather than dominate.
Oud Glare explores the ingredient’s more sensual side. Top notes of discreet Assam and Boya ouds, velvety leather, and radiant black rose are supported by additional notes of musk, black lemon, and iris.
